My huge, heavy 25 year old Sharp Carousel went out with the metal recycling last week after it started running constantly, even if the door was open 8-| I researched microwaves and decided on this LG. I removed 1 star immediately when, after opening the box, it took me 20 minutes to cleanly remove the plastic they wrap the entire outside cover with. They wrap the cover and THEN install the cover, so I had to use a razor blade to neatly trim it in spots. There we still a few blemishes in the finish so styrofoam would've done the same job. At least I could have recycled the styrofoam. After that I found a small piece of paper INSIDE the glass turntable. Keep in mind neither of these things affect the operation. I looked up the TruCookPlus site and agree that these are items I would never cook. I tried the oatmeal code and it wanted to cook it for 5:31! Normally I cook it for 2 minutes and it's too hot too eat. Man, I wonder what 5 minutes would do to it??? It boils a cup of water in under 1 minute and is relatively quiet. It hums/vibrates a bit but is not obnoxious; my old one did the same thing. It's easy to clean and does what every microwave should do: cook whatever you want in it (except a 20# turkey). So far so good. Therefore, I'd recommend it. If anything changes I'll update this review.
Microwave is fine but needs a light on control side since it is so dark and you can't read it. Otherwise it has enough wattage/ I would not use the touch control since I don't use enough of those products.
I've been looking for 'Just-the-right-size' microwave for my counter with the power I needed..............I found it!! Out of the different models I have had thoughout the years....THIS LG has been the BEST ever. It has it ALL..........LOOKS, SIZE, EASY TO OPERATE, CLEAN AND MOST OF ALL..THE POWER!!!!
